For Hidden Harbour, Hans Wilschut photographed the Port of Rotterdam at twilight, as the sun was setting. From unorthodox, unusual and normally inaccessible viewpoints, such as the gangplank of a ship, the boom of a crane and the roof of an oil storage tank, he reveals the complexity of this bustling industrial area. Through Wilschut’s eyes, the Port of Rotterdam as we know it is transformed into an almost alien version of reality, blanketed in serenity, light and colour.
